MISSIÖN

We are a project of the Pablo Ramirez Foundation and a community advocacy group dreaming of creating a world class, inclusive skate garden in Brooklyn, New York. 

The mission of the Brooklyn skate garden is inspired by the late Pablo Ramirez. Pablo was a professional skateboarder, artist, and musician born and raised in Brooklyn. Pablo believed that building community, respecting the earth, and sharing love are how we can make the world a better place together.

The Brooklyn Skate Garden ethos is about creating an inclusive skatepark and garden for future generations to enjoy. Where skateboarders of all ages can fully express themselves in a safe and supportive atmosphere, while understanding and interacting with sustainable practices and gardening for the entire community. We are committed to creating the most innovative, sustainable skatepark and garden in the heart of Brooklyn for the entire world to be inspired by.

We believe that a skatepark should not just be concrete ramps, but an inspiring environment that includes gardens, trees, picnicking and coming together to enjoy our world more fully. We envision Brooklyn Skate Garden to be an eco-space that meshes sports, environmental education, and the arts, while promoting sustainability and volunteerism.

This photo reflects an early vision of what we are imagining. We’re still in the infancy stage of developing our ideas about what the Brooklyn Skate Garden will become, and we know it will take the entire communities vision to make it a reality. LIFÉ IS BÉÂÜTIFÜL

One of our inspirations for creating the Brooklyn Skate Garden came from Pablo’s prolific poem, DONT FRET. The words in his poem evoke our philosophy for creating a skatepark and garden that is not just a place to skate, but a place to reflect, share, create, learn, and wonder about the world. Pablo’s approach to living life are here in these words. There are amazing lessons to be learned in every line.
