WHAT WE DO
Skateboarding
We’re bringing our skate community together by hosting sessions, workshops, clean ups, and meet ups around Brooklyn area skateparks as we work towards building The Brooklyn Skate Garden. We are an all ages community, spanning all cultures and identities, coming together to enjoy our passions. We’re activating our skate community to take ownership of their parks and ensure they are the clean, inclusive, welcoming spaces they want them to be.
Environmental engagement
We partner with NYC Parks Department, along with local gardeners and ecologists to host meet ups at skateparks around the area. These meet ups are designed to clean up the park itself, along with the landscaping and surrounding environment. We do bulb planting, weeding, gardening, and seasonal maintenance in order to ensure our parks stay clean and beautiful, while also educating our community about the power and importance of our natural environment.
Art & culture
We believe art has the power to change lives, and that public art is one of the greatest forms of expression. We host art workshops to inspire our community to be creative and try new things. We work with renowned artists alongside the community to create public murals at skateparks that reflect their passion and bring new life and energy into our shared spaces.
